Closed Loops

The most common type of geothermal installation is a closed loop system. The heat exchanger, a loop of PE100+ pipe filled with antifreeze is installed vertically or horizontally.

Loops

Manufactured from polyethylene (PE100+) for heat recovery through enclosed vertical or horizontal pipe systems.

Tremie Pipe

Grouting up of loops is recommended using the Tremie method which can be used with a Tremie reel or as part of the loop.

Weights

Weights can be added to the bottom of loops to help overcome bouyancy due to drilling mud.

Loop Testing

Pressure testing the integrity of closed loops during installation is paramount to the success of the system.
