History

2005

Geothermal Supplies Ltd (GSL) was formed to service the newly emerging geothermal/ground source energy industry. The company was formed by Andrew and Iain Howley who have a long history in borehole drilling and specifically in the geothermal drilling market sector and have been at the forefront of this technology since it was first introduced in the UK. Importantly with a drilling contracting background they understand the whole process of Geothermal or Ground Source Schemes.

2006

Kevin Bottomley joined the company as Managing Director in February. He has over 35 years experience in the drilling business. The first 16 years as a Drilling Contractor throughout the UK, Middle East and Africa. Prior to joining GSL, he was the International Sales Manager for a large multi-national mining and construction equipment manufacturing company based in the USA.

First coiling machine installed to manufacture geothermal loops.

Appointed exclusive European distributor for GeoLoop and GeoPro manufacturers of Geothermal loop installation equipment and thermally enhanced grouts.

2008

Stephen Costello was recruited as Business Manager in August 2008. He spent 13 years with British Coal before moving to a sales position in the industrial chemical industry. After 6 years he moved to GE on the chemical side of domestic heating and brings expertise in the system fluids side of Geothermal systems.

November - First of its kind mobile unit for filling, flushing and cleaning of geothermal systems designed and introduced to market.

2009

Steve Costello elected to GSHPA Council

2010

First Thermo-Loop 250 metres long produced for the UK market.

Appointed distributor for Wellmaster, Sentinel and Georg Fischer products

2011

Acquired by and became a trading brand of Marton Geotechnical Services Ltd and moved to new Coventry premises.
